So I got real with myself and reminded myself where I have been. Being overweight and unhealthy all since I was 12 years old, and being raised by a single parent who had to be aware of the prices because she was feeding 4 young ladies. Recently I have reminded myself that if it took this long to get this unhealthy the least I could do was to give myself at least half the time to get back to my healthier self before my 12th birthday.
I have been reading a few books from amazing authors such as Jen Sincero You are a Badass. I have learned quite a few things from these books and I keep learning daily. If you are anything like me where you are second guessing yourself and you think that you will never do (enter your item), then I would definitely suggest to read or listen to positive and self helping books.
While I have been consistent with my nutrition part of my health journey, I have been struck by life with a few things while being on this journey. On October 2017 I fell at work and I broke several parts of my body which was another hurdle with being able to stay consistent with my workouts. So i understand when you tell me you are hurt or you are not able to do this or that. I prefer to tell myself “What am I able to do right now?” this way I can continue to move and little by little my body has gotten stronger and I have been able to succeed and get back on track. One of the hardest things that I have been told from one or more of my doctors is “At your age, getting back to doing the things you used to do before the fall is going to be close to impossible”.
I am very grateful for all the support, the community, the love, the help and suggestions from all the friends, family, physical therapists and coaches that I am around. With this information I have been able to start to do more of the simple things that I used to do before the fall such as wearing heels, hiking, dancing. I am only getting better daily and look forward to being better with every day that passes. Please share this story with someone you know because you never know what someone can take from different life stories. Thank you for reading and supporting.
